I ran the Robby Anderson easy-smash chalk last week, but unfortunately I didn’t play Nick Foles, so I guess I played myself. My lineup’s 140.34-point output moved our season average from 147.97 to a still relatively solid 147.49, via the cash game log . I’d love to push that DraftKings average atop 150 for the regular season, and Week 17’s obviously that chance. And hopefully this week’s Sunday morning update gets me there....

Our bust picks were pretty accurate last week, as all three RBs (Alfred Morris, Jamaal Williams, LeSean McCoy) disappointed while the receivers, albeit largely because of injuries, were also largely failures (Doug Baldwin, Marquise Goodwin, Amari Cooper). Sure, we had Patrick Mahomes listed as a QB bust, but across the board, our other picks were pretty accurate. Playing it safe can be a solid fantasy strategy, but relying on a good player in a bad matchup can be a recipe for disaster and may make you the poster-child for for our “How You’ll Lose” list for Week 2....

There’s not really ever a good reason to play a non-QB in your Superflex spot (except for injury), especially in standard leagues, as even the mid- to low-tier QBs still outscore the top options at other positions regularly. Last week, most of our sleepers delivered middle-of-the-road performances. All of our RBs had about 6.0 fantasy points. The WRs had similar numbers, but Tre’Quan Smith was the best with a mark of 8.3. Our biggest hits from last week were probably QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and TE Ben Watson, who both were able to put up solid numbers. Our biggest bust among sleepers was the Raiders defense, who delivered a complete dud....

Drew Brees, QB, Saints. Brees completed 34 of 41 passes (83 percent) for 392 yards and four touchdowns with no turnovers Sunday night against the Cowboys. He’s now averaging 340 yards per game with a 25-7 TD-to-INT ratio and could challenge Peyton Manning as fantasy’s top QB in the second half. Tavon Austin, WR, Rams. The rookie finally broke out in Week 10, racking up 314 all-purpose yards and three total touchdowns....

We’re starting off by stacking Rams again. Even though this week’s matchup is tougher (@ Seahawks), the $8 price drop on Jared Goff seems like an overcorrection. We’re also getting Cooper Kupp at $4 cheaper than we paid for Brandin Cooks last week, so we’re good with those picks. We’re paying up in a major way for our RBs, which means we have to pay down for sleeper pass-catchers, but we think we found some high-upside candidates who should outproduce their prices....

Fortunately, this week’s rankings are fairly strong – which they should be with only two teams on bye and the impact of injuries fairly minimal. If Johnson (knee) can’t go on Thanksgiving and Martin (ankle) misses time against the Ravens, both the Lions and Raiders will opt for committee situations in horrible matchups, which is suboptimal for everyone involved. Of course, it does open up more touches for potential FLEX backs, so that’s something, especially in PPR leagues....
