Higher prices at the pump and the grocery store hurt. But there is also some good news. For one thing, we’re actually experiencing less inflation than many other countries. Inflation here is 8 percent, compared to over 10 percent in the U.K. and Eurozone. Turkey has seen rates of over 80 percent. For another, we’re better equipped to weather hard times than we’ve been in decades. From the Reagan era on, administrations of both parties cut the social safety net and left struggling Americans to twist in the wind....

Unfortunately, the effectiveness of respirators is vastly overestimated, and there is scant evidence that they stop community transmission. Moreover, NIOSH-approved respirators are tight, uncomfortable, and can impede breathing. OSHA requires both fit testing and a medical evaluation before workers can wear them. The question — can you really afford to take these chances this late in the game? It really depends on the position. At QB, you shouldn't need to pull the Andy Dalton (vs. IND) or Joe Flacco (vs. MIN) ripcord, but they do have good matchups. If Jay Cutler comes back, he could do serious damage against Dallas, but playing on Monday night makes him more risky. Running back is a little trickier because starters always get touches, even if they're a little undesirable....

Kyler Murray, Lamar Jackson, and Patrick Mahomes will sit atop our rankings with regularity. Josh Allen and Dak Prescott have tougher matchups this week, but they’ll be contenders for the top spot sometimes, too. It’s tough to know exactly where to start rankings RBs and WRs, but studs like Tyreek Hill and McCaffrey showed they deserve to be near the top 10 overall in Week 1.
