The new Nest Mini would cost you £49, but if you’re not willing to part with that much just yet, you can’t really go wrong with the Home Mini.
The differences between the two models aren’t substantive. For starters, they look identical. The changes you do get on the Nest Mini are new LEDs on the side volume buttons, a wall mount indentation on the back, and a new machine learning chip that promises increased responsiveness. In our review though, we couldn’t see a major difference in performance. The Nest Mini does have a louder speaker though.
At £19.99 the Home Mini remains a great introduction to smartening up your home with Google Assistant. The speaker can respond to your questions, set alarms, play music, cast videos and connect with smart light switches and heating systems. See our full Google Home mini review.
