For the first time this season, Singletary received more carries than Frank Gore (20 to 11). He was efficient, too, averaging 4.8 yards per carry for 95 yards total on the heavy workload. He added three catches on four targets for 45 yards. Buffalo had already been playing Singletary many more snaps than Gore, so it seemed like only a matter of time before his carries reflected that. A Week 10 game in Cleveland shouldn’t slow Singletary down, and he’s now firmly in the RB2 tier.

The story of Jones’ season has been more frustrating. Almost every game, he was more effective than Peyton Barber but rarely saw more work. Sunday, though, Jones outcarried Barber 18 to four and gained 67 yards with a touchdown on the ground. He also remained on the field in many late-game passing situations that normally fall to Dare Ogunbowale. Because of how frustrating Bruce Arians’ backfield split has been, we can’t say for certain that Jones will remain the man. But he’s still unowned in a lot of leagues, and if he can get 15 carries a game, he’s also in the RB2 range.

One of the more intriguing battles to watch as the week goes on is in Arizona, where Kenyan Drake played better than expected in his Cardinals debut against the tough 49ers’ defense. David Johnson (back, ankle) and/or Chase Edmonds (hamstring) should have a chance to make it back from injury after last Thursday’s game. Kliff Kingsbury has said it will be a committee, although you’d have to imagine that Johnson, if fully healthy, will get the bulk of the work there. Any back in that fast-paced offense has fantasy value with enough workload, though.

WEEK 10 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end

We’d be concerned more about Chris Carson’s matchup (@ 49ers) this week if not for how successful Drake was against San Francisco. Carson did fumble twice Sunday, losing one, so that return of an early-season narrative is worth keeping an eye on. We’ll also continue to watch the backfield split with the Niners, where Matt Breida and Tevin Coleman continue to share carries, and with the Chargers, where Melvin Gordon finally looked a bit like his old self in Week 9.
