Week 13 fantasy football rankings, Defenses

  1. Cardinals at Rams. The Rams are allowing 11.0 fantasy points per game to defenses (sixth-most), making the Cardinals’ D/ST an easy No. 1 play.

  2. Broncos at Chargers. The Chargers are allowing nearly 10 FPPG to D/STs, putting Denver back in the conversation for No. 1.

  3. Bengals at Browns. The Bengals are coming off an impressive performance against the Rams. Plus, the Browns are allowing the fourth-most fantasy points to D/STs and expected to start Austin Davis at QB.

  4. Panthers at Saints. Here’s where things get tricky. The Panthers didn’t have to deal with Drew Brees the last time they played, and we know the Saints can put points on the board at home. They also make mistakes, though, which is why we’re trusting the undefeated Panthers to force a few on Sunday.

  5. Patriots vs. Eagles. There’s nothing scary about the Eagles offense right now. Bill Belichick’s D, which hopes to get both Jamie Collins and Dont’a Hightower back, could have a field day pressuring Mark Sanchez (or Sam Bradford).

  6. Seahawks at Vikings. Seattle has been getting beat by the deep ball lately, but that’s not Minnesota’s forte. Expect the Seahawks to focus on slowing Adrian Peterson and forcing Teddy Bridgewater to beat them with his arm, which could lead to a few mistakes.

  7. Rams vs. Cardinals. This feels like the riskiest play among the elite defenses, but the Cardinals offense is a little banged up and struggled to move the ball at San Francisco last weekend. We’re sticking with the Rams if we don’t have any of the options above.

  8. Chiefs at Raiders. The Chiefs cooled off a bit last week against the Bills and lost Justin Houston (knee), who could miss Week 13. Now they face an explosive offense on the road in Oakland. We’re trusting them, but this is about where we’d start thinking about other matchup plays, especially if Houston is out.

9. Texans at Bills. The Texans have been strong lately, but the Bills just aren’t giving up many fantasy points to D/STs (only 28 in the last four games combined). If that makes you uneasy, feel free to pick on some of the quarterbacks below.

  1. Dolphins vs. Ravens. We’ll gladly take a flier on a talented yet struggling Dolphins defense against Matt Schaub and an injury-riddled Ravens offense.
