Take Jack Doyle and Tyler Higbee. Here’s what we thought would happen last week: Higbee would regress after taking advantage of a favorable Cardinals matchup in Week 13 and Doyle would continue to shine in a fantastic matchup against Tampa Bay. Here’s what actually happened: Doyle stunk, and Higbee surpassed 100 yards for the second-straight week.
WEEK 15 NON-PPR RANKINGS: Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | D/ST | Kicker
The Rams showed us earlier in the season that a tight end could be productive in their offense (see: Gerald Everett), so maybe it’s not as surprising as it feels that Higbee is thriving, too. He’s a borderline fantasy start against a below-average defense at defending the tight ends, Dallas, in Week 15. Eric Ebron fantasy owners know that the Colts didn’t do a ton of tight end stuff early in the season, so maybe it’s not as surprising as it feels that Doyle busted a week after starring. This week, Higbee is slightly above Doyle, but they’re in pretty similar spots.

If you don’t own Higbee or Doyle, maybe that’s good for you as you avoid possible headaches this week. There are numerous tight end injuries to keep your head throbbing, though. Olsen could return from a concussion or he could remain out and make Ian Thomas a borderline start once again. Evan Engram (knee) could return or leave Kaden Smith to thrive against the Dolphins. Fant (foot), Andrews (knee/thigh), Vance McDonald (concussion), Cook (concussion), and Griffin (ankle) were all injured Sunday, and Andrews and Griffin play Thursday in Week 15, creating potential numbers for Ravens backup Hayden Hurst, if nothing else.
WEEK 15 PPR RANKINGS: Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end
Hopefully you’re just sitting pretty with a top-tier tight end this week, but if you’re not, Hurst and Thomas are two of our favorite streams, if their respective starters are inactive. That’s only if David Njoku is already owned. If he’s available, pick him up ahead of the matchup with Arizona and reap the tight end rewards.
