MORE FANTASY RANKINGS: RB | WR | TE | DEF | K
FIVE STAR
- Peyton Manning, Broncos vs. Chiefs2. Drew Brees, Saints @ Browns3. Aaron Rodgers, Packers vs. Jets: Now that the Seahawks are in the rearview, Rodgers is back amongst the elite.
FOUR STAR
- Andrew Luck, Colts vs. Eagles: Backed by a poor defense against an elite Eagles offense, Luck will have to do everything he can to keep pace with Philly. It should be a huge day for neck beards.5. Colin Kaepernick, 49ers vs. Bears: Another great matchup for Kaep against a shaky Bears D, but will the 49ers need to turn him loose? We’re betting yes.6. Matt Ryan, Falcons @ Bengals7. Nick Foles, Eagles @ Colts: This won’t be a low-scoring affair. Hopefully Foles can avoid the early-game jitters this time.8. Tom Brady, Patriots @ Vikings9. Matthew Stafford, Lions @ Panthers: Stafford looked strong in Week 1, but that was against a weak Giants pass rush and a still-gelling secondary. We’re a little worried about how Stafford will handle the Panthers’ pressure, but you know he’ll still find Megatron a few times.
THREE STAR
- Andy Dalton, Bengals vs. Falcons: Give Dalton a QB1 bump against a questionable Falcons defense.11. Tony Romo, Cowboys @ Titans12. Cam Newton, Panthers vs. Lions: We’re glad Cam’s back, but he’ll be under constant pressure from the Lions’ front line. He’s a risky bet all around.13. Jay Cutler, Bears @ 49ers: Cutler’s stock will slip if Brandon Marshall (ankle) and Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) are limited.14. Russell Wilson, Seahawks @ Chargers: Wilson is arguably safer than both Newton and Cutler this week, but his ceiling is lower, too.15. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers @ Ravens16. Carson Palmer, Cardinals @ Giants: The Giants’ new-look secondary had trouble with the Lions in Week 1, and face another tough test with Palmer’s weapons.17. Robert Griffin III, Redskins vs. Jaguars
TWO STAR
- Philip Rivers, Chargers vs. Seahawks: The Seahawks D looked as strong as last year while harrassing Aaron Rodgers in Week 1. We’re not expecting Rivers to defeat the Legion of Boom.19. Jake Locker, Titans vs. Cowboys: If you’re looking for a sleeper QB this week, Locker is your guy. The Cowboys’ generous secondary presents a great matchup, and Locker can hurt them on the ground, too.20. Ryan Tannehill, Dolphins @ Bills21. Alex Smith, Chiefs @ Broncos: Don’t assume Smith will be trying to keep pace with Peyton Manning this week. We expect him to be even more of a game manager in Denver
ONE STAR
- Joe Flacco, Ravens vs. Steelers23. Geno Smith, Jets @ Packers24. Chad Henne, Jaguars @ Redskins25. Brian Hoyer, Browns vs. Saints: Those in two-QB leagues can get excited about any of these last three sleepers (Smith, Henne, Hoyer) in favorable matchups. Everyone else should ignore them, though.26. EJ Manuel, Bills vs. Dolphins27. Eli Manning, Giants vs. Cardinals: Awful. Just awful.
ZERO STAR
- Josh McCown, Buccaneers vs. Rams: McCown looked terrible against the Panthers, and the matchup doesn’t get any easier this week.29. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Texans @ Raiders30. Matt Cassel, Vikings vs. Patriots31. Derek Carr, Raiders vs. Texans32. Shaun Hill*, Rams @ Buccaneers: Austin Davis would start if Hill (quad) can’t go.
- status uncertain because of injury
